La Capanna, Company
La Capanna was opened as an Italian restaurant in 1978. Originally discovered as an old farm house in the Sussex countryside, the building was carefully dismantled and transported back to Surrey where it was re-assembled proudly behind the facade of an equally old 16th century cottage at the end of Cobham High Street.
The result is a large and spacious rustic restaurant which boasts a wealth of original features, exposed beams and high ceilings. Alternatively, you can sit outside in the covered and heated Italian Garden overlooking the River Mole… a quiet and magical place on a warm Summer's day or evening. Guests enjoy a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere where they are well looked after by Head Chef Matthew Crook, who trained under Marco Pierre White, Honza, the Restaurant Manager, and his team.
The Italian garden terrace is at the rear of the farmhouse and is set
overlooking the River Mole. The garden is planted throughout with herbs
and a variety of flora, making it an ideal secluded and peaceful
setting to enjoy some al fresco dining or a cooling Mojito on a long

The Conservatory is the most recent addition to the restaurant.
Completed in 2002, this is a brighter setting with views over the
Italian garden that runs down towards the banks of the River Mole. The
Conservatory is an ideal venue for a slightly larger event and is
available for exclusive use...

dinner. Our 16th Century converted barn ('La Capanna' means "small
barn" in Italian) offers a unique rustic restaurant setting with the
convienience of being directly situated on Cobham High Street.
